Providing Oxygen during Critical Times
As hospitals buckle from surge in COVID-19 cases, Indonesia faces oxygen shortage in July 2021. In solidarity, we are committed to provide 1,200 tons of oxygen every month, to save lives and supporting the country’s fight against COVID-19. These 1,200 tons of liquid oxygen are expected to fill-up 1 million tubes of medical oxygen with 1 m3 capacity.
These oxygens are supplied by PT OKI Pulp & Paper Mills, PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper - Perawang Mills, and PT Lontar Papyrus Pulp & Paper Industry. As of 8 September 2021, we have distributed a total of 1,229.99 tons of oxygen to areas in need, which includes Jambi (83.562 tons), South Sumatera, West Java and Lampung (883.998 tons), Riau and West Sumatera (262.44 tons). Working Hand-in-Hand towards Healthy Indonesia
Managing through and recovering from this global crisis take everyone’s support and we are standing up to advance relief efforts in the communities. In May 2021, we have started implementing the COVID-19 vaccination program for all employees. APP Sinar Mas is humbled to be a part of the first 19 companies participating in the government’s Gotong Royong (Communal) Vaccination Program.
We support vaccination programs in all of our mills and business units, such as PT OKI Pulp & Paper Mills, PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper, PT Ekamas Fortuna, PT Pabrik Kertas Tjiwi Kimia, PT Pindo Deli Pulp & Paper as well as communities through collaboration with stakeholders such as Eka Tjipta Foundation and Kanisius Alumni Group. Our support has received a positive response indicated by good vaccination rates, even a number of mills such as Tjiwi Kimia have nearly completed their employee vaccination programs.
