Padua, 15th July 2014 – Asia Pulp & Paper Group (APP) has added graphic and speciality paper capacity to its 10,000sqm logistical and warehousing hub at the Port of Antwerp, Belgium. APP will now be able to provide a range of graphic paper solutions to customers across Northern Europe, with lead times of just 7-10 days in order ranges of 5-25 tonnes.
The development will build on the facility’s existing capacity in packaging grade products.
The Antwerp hub caters for the North European market and joins APP’s three existing logistical and warehousing hubs with 10,000sqm of capacity in Italy, 3,000sqm in Spain and 3,000sqm in Latvia. APP has now extended shorter lead time capacity to cover the entirety of the Southern, Central, Northern and Eastern European markets, with the Latvian facility in particular offering additional reach into the Russian market.
Danilo Benvenuti, Regional Sales Director for Asia Pulp and Paper said “One of APP’s fundamental goals is to support our customers in growing their businesses profitably. Therefore, we are pleased to be introducing greater product availability and shorter lead times. As a result of our shorter lead times, our customers will be able to reduce their stockholding requirements and free up cashflow – something we believe is a critical advantage in today’s competitive market.”
All four logistical and warehousing hubs are centrally managed and controlled by Asia Pulp and Paper’s European sales office in Padua, Italy using a big data logistical solution provided by SAP that integrates warehousing, stock management and customer delivery into one location. The hubs are highly automated and stock can be tracked from customer order through to final delivery. The logistical and warehousing hubs are supplemented by a range of sheeting facilities in focus markets such as the United Kingdom, Spain, France Italy and Austria, enabling Asia Pulp and Paper to meet more specialist orders. Direct from mill capacity will be retained to provide additional capacity in specialist orders and to fulfil larger orders.
Key graphic and speciality paper products available at the European hubs include the Nevia Plus, Impression 2000, Enova, and Enova Recycled ranges. Key graphic and packaging board products available include the Sinarvanda and Zenith ranges of GC1, Sinarpack and Proxima GC2 and Savvicoat and Ningbo Star SBB/SBS. This is in addition to a range of speciality converted office products such as the High Bright range.
