This year we want the protagonist of the International Day of Forests to not just be the trees, but also those who take care of them.
We are talking about all men and women working in the field, classifying plants, preventing illegal logging or struggling to prevent and extinguish possible fires. They are people who live in the forests, with a strong connection with one and other. Their function, however simple it may seem, is key to Asia Pulp & Paper’s Forest Conservation Policy - one of the most ambitious on the planet - being a reality.
These guardians are people who know the land like the back of their hands. For them, nature is an essential part of their lives, and we could affirm without a doubt that they are the most committed people to Indonesia's forest conservation policies.
